While on Duty, Sgt. Kazimer Wistert was approached by a citizen who identified a man on the street who had committed a robbery. Sgt. Wistert followed the suspect into a building. As he entered the hallway, the offender suddenly turned around and fired a revolver. Sgt. Wistert was struck and seriously injured. The dedicated sergeant died from the injuries that he sustained.
