Sgt. Gerald Doll observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Sgt. Doll attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled. Moments later, the speeding vehicle stopped. As Sgt. Doll approached the vehicle, the driver produced a sawed off-shotgun, pointed it and fired at the unsuspecting sergeant. Sgt. Doll was fatally wounded in the attack.
