The union filed a grievance regarding active Member’s health insurance cost for the time period of January 2020 to January 2024. It was a “Me-Too” with FOP 7. FOP’s increase was less than ours. The grievance went to arbitration before Arbitrator Brennwald. Arb Brennwald found in our favor and awarded a “refund” of the overpayment amounts. The City issued the “refund” to Active Members last Friday. And I am happy to say, Retirees who were active and paying for their health care should have received their checks in the mail or will soon be receiving them. If you feel you should have received a check but have not, please give the office a call. But again, this only applies if you were active and paying for health care between January 2020 to January 2024.
