90th Annual Chicago Police Department St. Jude Memorial March

Chicago Police Department St. Jude March

Calling all Chicago police retirees !

The 90th Annual Chicago Police Department St. Jude Memorial March will take place Sunday, 1 May 2022. Chicago Police Retirees have again been given their own marching contingent and area to assemble to be represented here, as in the past. All retirees are invited and encouraged to attend and participate in this time honored tradition to, ‘Honor Our Fallen.’

Retirees will meet and assemble on Museum Campus Drive (road just east of Soldier Field) and Solidarity Drive (road just north of the reviewing stand) in preparation for the march. Extended family members and friends are welcome to view the march from the west curb of Museum Campus Drive along the path of the march. The march will progress South on Museum Campus Drive to Waldron Dr. and ‘steps off’ promptly at 0800 hrs.

Since retirees are assigned to march at the beginning of the parade within the first few positions, normally behind the Gold Star family contingent, it is advised to arrive by 0700 hrs., to allow time to walk to the assembly area.

Parking will be provided at lots adjacent to Soldier Field. Follow the signs and the traffic detail that will direct you to the parking. Note that there will be NO parking or drop-off’s available outside the area of the parking garages. Handicapped individuals are encouraged to use the nearby handicapped provided spaces within the parking facilities.

We ask that you again join your fellow members in the ‘oldest and proudest’ tradition of the Chicago Police Department. Our continued participation in that ‘Thin Blue Line’ continues to send a message to the Gold Star Family members that the sacrifice of their loved one will always be remembered and we hold true to our dedication and commitment to them that…
