In conjunction with National Police Week the Chicago Police Football Team the Enforcers will be playing their 13th Annual Gold Star Bowl on May 12, 2018 at St. Ignatius HS. The Enforcers will be playing non-league opponent Inland Empire. Kick-off is at 3 pm at St. Ignatius High School 1076 W. Roosevelt Road. The Gold Star Bowl honors fallen Officers.
The Enforcers will be playing in honor of Commander Paul J. Bauer and the legacy he left behind. To honor Commander Bauer’s legacy the Enforcers are teaming up with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls to create the Commander Paul Bauer Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will benefit a Mercy Home resident. On May 12th the Enforcers will be introducing a specially created challenge coin for sale at the game. A portion of the proceeds of the challenge coin sales will go towards the scholarship. The Enforcers believe there is no better way to honor Commander Bauer’s legacy than to help a child in need receive an education.
After May 12th the Enforcers will be selling the coins at various locations throughout the city. Go to www.cpdenforcers.com
for dates, times, and details of sales. Also donations can be made to the Commander Paul Bauer Memorial Scholarship fund by going to Mercy Home’s

Our Police family lost a great man, Commander Paul Bauer. Paul was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a subject who had just run from other officers near the James R. Thompson Center. He was always there for his Brother and Sister Officers, and was a former Director of the Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association. Commander Bauer had served with the Chicago Police Department for 31 years. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. He will be missed, but our fond memories with him will last forever. Rest in Peace, Brother.
