Youth Scholarship Fund – 2023

The Chicago Police Sergeants’ Association – Unit 156A – has an educational scholarship fund for the children and grandchildren of active duty Sergeants. Active duty Sergeants have the ability to apply to be a recipient of a $250 youth scholarship if they have at least 1 child or grandchild in grades K-12 for the year of 2023. In order to enroll in the scholarship opportunity, a Sergeant must complete a “Chicago Police Sergeant Unit 156A Youth Scholarship Application” in its entirety and submit it to the Association. It must be received by the Association prior to 16 March 2023 at 1200 hours. All applications will be entered to win and 20 random winners will be selected. There will be a maximum of 20 total scholarships awarded at the March general meeting. Neither the active duty Sergeant nor the youth scholarship recipient needs to be present at the meeting to be awarded the scholarship.

The 20 active duty Sergeants that are awarded the youth scholarship must use the scholarship money for educational purposes for their child/grandchild. Additionally, by accepting the youth scholarship, the winning members are agreeing to send a picture and a few sentences of what the scholarship was used for to the Association. This must be submitted within 2 months of receiving the scholarship.
